Good Range Set (Angle Acceptance Range Setting)

Good Range Set (Angle Acceptance Range Setting)

Digital levels feature a function called “Good Range Set,” which allows users to define an acceptable tolerance range for leveling.

With a traditional bubble level, leveling is complete when the bubble is centered. However, when using a digital level, operators often try to adjust until the display reaches exactly X: 0.000° and Y: 0.000°. This process can be time-consuming and may result in significant variation in adjustment time between operators.

To address this, users can define an acceptable tolerance range. For example, if the required leveling accuracy is within X: ±0.005° and Y: ±0.005°, the Good Range Set function allows this range to be registered as the acceptance criteria.

Once the Good Range Set is configured, the display behavior changes as follows:

・Press START to begin measurement.
・If the measured values are outside the acceptance range (X: ±0.005°, Y: ±0.005°), the Judge indicator displays “NG.”
・As leveling adjustment is performed and the values enter the acceptance range, the Judge indicator changes to “Good,” and a buzzer notifies the operator.

With this function, operators only need to adjust until the measurement falls within the predefined acceptance range set by their organization. Further fine adjustment is unnecessary.

As a result, this feature helps:

・Reduce variation in leveling time between operators
・Improve consistency and stabilize takt time in production processes
